They are Opening for Ice Nine Kills and In This Moment in my city, so I decided to check them out, and now Avatar is the band that I am most excited to see! What was so great about this song is that as heavy of a subject as it is, the music video was key in sending the message that if you feel this way just know that you are not alone and you can find comradery and solidarity within your depression. It also illustrated the positive impact that metal music can have even when dealing with dark subject matter like suicide and self-harm. I knew several people who resorted to self-harm and a few who took it so far they are no longer with us, back in high school. The world can be a cruel, depressing, confining, solitary place at times and it is important to know that you are not alone in your thoughts and emotions no matter how bad it gets. If you struggle with these thoughts and habits, call the suicide prevention hotline for your state, or just text Help to 988. The app BetterHelp was a godsend for me when I had a recent three-month bout of depression and also here on youtube seek out the channel and organization HeartSupport, they especially like catering to the metal crowd.
